CFEH plays an important role in providing practical support to optometrists who are working in the community, with its ongoing professional development programs and resources helping to ensure that optometrist have developed, or have access to, the expertise and equipment needed for early detection of eye conditions that cause blindness.
In association with Optometry NSW/ACT The Centre has developed Learning for Vision an education website that provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for optometrist in the form of interesting cases, webinar and video lectures. Learning for Vision has also gone international with sites in Ireland and New Zealand as well as developing content for the USA and UK.
All fees paid through Learning for Vision help keep the Centre for Eye Health free to patients and referrers.
CFEH is also helping to train the next generation of optometrists, with the clinical team contributing to the teaching programs delivered to students at The University of New South Wales’ School of Optometry and Vision Science.
