Michael Yapp

Michael received has B.Optom (Hons), M.Optom and GradCertOcTher from UNSW.

He has worked in private practice, as a locum in around Australia and the UK, as a staff optometrist at UNSW, as the program manager for Luxottica’s charity program and at a corneal specialist ophthalmology practice.  He is currently the chief staff optometrist at the Centre for Eye Health with a special interest in collaborative care, ocular imaging and glaucoma. He is passionate about contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate optometric education and has been invited to speak in the US, New Zealand and India as well as around Australia. He has also contributed to published articles in Ophthalmic and Physiological optics, Optometry and Vision Science, Optometric Education, Clinical and Experimental Optometry, PLoS One, Ophthalmic Epidemiology and the Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness.

David Murray

David came to CFEH with an extensive range of business management experience. Having spent the previous seven years in the workplace health industry, David has a strong background in strategy, operations, finance and business development. His degrees in both commerce and psychology have provided David with a solid foundation for excellent people leadership and business management acumen.

Michael Kalloniatis

With expertise in retinal anatomy and neurochemistry, Kalloniatis is a highly experienced optometrist with a range of academic and research experience who has maintained clinical practice throughout his career. Both Kalloniatis’ parents have experienced vision loss at the hands of eye disease, so his passion to prevent blindness through early diagnosis is augmented by personal first-hand understanding of the social impacts of vision loss.
